Student Escort Service, Loyola Marymont University

Campus Safety offers students a safe walk from one point to another on campus. The student escort service is available from 6:00pm to 1:00am, seven days a week. If students need an escort during the other hours of the day, the Public Safety Department will gladly be of assistance.


Don’t Walk Alone, State University of New York at Albany

In 1982, some University at Albany student volunteers took that adage to heart and created Don’t Walk Alone, a service that “promotes the general safety of the uptown campus” by ensuring that “students, faculty, staff, or even visitors” reach their destinations safely.


Student Escort Services, George Mason University

The Escort Service is FREE and available during the Fall and Spring Semesters from 6:30 P.M. to 1:30 A.M. During finals, the hours are extended to 2:30 A.M. Escorts provide walking escorts anywhere on the Fairfax Campus. Anyone needing the service can call 993-HELP (4357) or use any of 53 call boxes located on campus.

The employees of the Escort Service are all George Mason students trained by University Police. They communicate by radio with their dispatcher and are monitored by the police at all times. All escorts carry photo identification issued by the University Police.


Froggie Five-0, Student Escort Service, Texas Christian University

Students who use this service have responded positively to a program which was begun in 1996 and has since grown rapidly. Froggie Five-0, as the student escort service is known, started with a staff of 4 to 5 student-workers and has become one of the larger operations administered by the police department with over 3100 escorts provided to the campus community per month. While TCU police officer escorts are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, student escorts operate between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. If you need someone to walk with you from the parking lots to your residence hall or provide transportation (when available), call for Froggie-Five 0. Use the emergency phones at various locations near parking lots and around campus or dial 7777 at any time to request the service. If you have a cellular phone in your car, you may phone TCU police at 257-7777, request an escort, and, in many cases, have the service waiting on you when you arrive. The TCU Police Department and Froggie Five-0 are here to assist you.


Safety Escort Services, Old Dominium University

The Old Dominion University Student Escort Service is sponsored by the ODU Police Department, and is designed to provide a safer, more secure environment for students whose only means of transportation on the campus is walking.

There are currently eighteen (18) full time students working for the Student Escort Service. These students are under the direction of the Escort Coordinator and two Escort Supervisors. Many of the escorts are members of the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) programs on campus. If you would like to know more about the Student Escort Service, please call 683-3477 or 683-4003.


Safety Escort Service, Arizona State University

The Safety Escort Service is one of the best services that ASASU provides to students. The Safety Escort Service ensures students, faculty, and staff a safer alternative than walking alone to campus parking lots, structures, and residence halls, utilizing the idea of the "buddy system". In the form of a golf cart the Safety Escort Service will provide an escort for free from any on-campus location to another throughout the evening.

Call us at 480.965.1515 to set up a one-time escort appointment. All phone reservations must be received by 11:30 pm the night of the requested escort.

If you want to be picked up consistently on a certain day every week at the same time, call and request to be put on the "regulars list". Once on the list, there is no need to call in the future. Safety Escort Service Drivers will arrive as close to the requested time as possible.

We will be closed during the winter break and we will remain open during summer classes and the times will be announced before the summer session starts.


SafeRide, Northwestern University

SafeRide is a service provided to members of the Northwestern community as a safe and free alternative to walking alone after dark.

SafeRide drivers provide rides to and from destinations in and around Northwestern's Evanston campus.

SafeRide is not a taxi, it is a safety service meant to be used in conjunction with other strategies such as traveling in groups and using Northwestern's Shuttle Service.

SafeRide is staffed by student employees and administrators dedicated to enhancing campus safety.


Campus Escort Service, Towson University

In order to help keep students, faculty and staff safe during their travels around the campus, the University Police provide several types of "escort services." Starting with nightfall and running until around midnight each night, students employed by the police department staff a program known as "SAFEWALK." Safewalk is a walking escort program wherein a team of two students walkers will meet you at any location within the central campus area and walk with you to your destination, provided it too is within the central campus area. All Safewalk personnel are dressed in highly visible yellow and black jackets and are radio equipped. Do not hesitate to ask for identification from the walkers. They will gladly show your their police department ID.

For more outlying areas, the police department also operates a student run "ride-van" between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. daily. The ride-van will take you to any destination on campus.

After the student -run escort services have closed for the night, police officers and police aides provide escorts to the community. When planning on traveling the campus between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. police personnel will take you to any on-campus destination. Because, however, emergency and urgent situations can occur at any given time requiring an officer's immediate response, citizens requesting rides with officers must plan ahead and be flexible. Delays in police response for rides do occur.
